ABO Specific Multivitamin
INTRODUCTION
Polyvite A was designed as a ‘metabolic shield’ for type A individuals, providing anti-oxidant protection, polyamine sequestration, enhancement of liver detoxification, immune support and cardiovascular tonification.
DESCRIPTION/ BACKGROUND
Polyvite O was designed as a ‘metabolic activator’ for type O individuals, providing all the adjuvants necessary for proper protein breakdown and assimilation. Polyamine sequestration, enhancement of the adrenal-stress response, proper thyroid function and digestive health also figure prominently in the formulation.

ACTIONS/ INDICATIONS
Highlights of the Polyvite A formula include: Vitamin A (100% as Beta-Carotene) - Supports healthy vision and immune function
- Stimulates secretion of intestinal alkaline phosphatase (low in type A) which aids in fat breakdown and calcium absorption
- Vitamin A has been shown to modulate the immune response in the intestinal tract, supporting intestinal repair and inflammation.
Acerola Cherry - Contains 66 times the vitamin C of orange juice, and provides 100% of the RDA of vitamin C
- Promotes digestive health and growth of friendly bacteria
Vitamin D - Vitamin D, in its active form as cholecalciferol, is most well-known for its bone strengthening benefits, however it is also an immune modulator. It may help prevent infections and autoimmune illness.
Thiamin - An essential vitamin required as a cofactor for multiple enzymatic activities.
Riboflavin - Necessary for ATP production
- Supports reduction and generation of glutathione
- May also show benefits in migraines
- Niacin
- Supports cholesterol levels
- Helps in supporting the heart and vascular health
Vitamin B6 - Supports proper neurotransmitter production
- Supports liver health
- Supports metabolism of homocysteine
- Folate
- Important in DNA synthesis
- Supports metabolism of homocysteine
- Involved in functioning of the nervous system
Methylcobalamin (Active B12) - Helps balance melatonin metabolism
- Aids in cortisol metabolism
- Biotin
- Aids in the utilization of sugar and glucose
- Supports fatty acid oxidation
Quercetin - Potent antimutagen
- Aids in maintaining gut integrity
- Regulates the histamine response
- Pantethine
- Helps regulate cholesterol metabolism
Lipoic acid (Thioctic acid) - Enhances insulin sensitivity
- “Ideal,” and “metabolic” antioxidant. It neutralizes free radicals in both the fatty and watery regions of cells, in contrast to vitamin C (which is water soluble) and vitamin E (which is fat soluble).
Bacopa monieri - Enhances cognitive ability and memory retention
- Aids in cortisol metabolism
Nori, dunaliela, laminaria sea vegetable mixture - Contains alginates which can help bind heavy metals and protect against harmful lectins
- Is a rich source of plant polysaccharides and trace minerals
Curcumin - Contains powerful antioxidant, anti-carcinogenic and anti-inflammatory compounds
- Inhibits the enzyme ODC, thereby decreasing potentially toxic and carcinogenic bowel polyamines
- Promotes gastric integrity, increases mucin production, and offers gastro-protective effects
Arabinogalactan pulp - Promotes growth of friendly bacteria
- Supports immune system health
Acerola Cherry - Contains 66 times the vitamin C of orange juice, and provides 100% of the RDA of vitamin C
- Promotes digestive health and growth of friendly bacteria
Blueberry/ Elderberry Complex - Offers more antioxidant activity than any of 40 fruits and vegetables tested by Tufts University and the USDA
- Promotes the phase II detoxification enzyme quinine reductase
- Inhibits the enzyme ODC, thereby decreasing potentially toxic and carcinogenic bowel polyamines
- Is a rich source of health promoting proanthocyanadins
- Has been found to help delay the onset of age-related declines in cognitive function
- Inhibits bacterial adherence
Inula racemosa root extract (2% allantolactone) - Promotes insulin sensitivity
- Lowers cortisol
- Provides fiber substrate needed to promote growth of friendly bacteria
Dandelion root extract (25% inulin) - Promotes growth of friendly bacteria
- Support liver and gallbladder health by promoting better bile flow and enhancing cholesterol metabolism
Flax seed - Provides healthy omega-3 acids in doses with beneficial type A lectins
- Can act as a prebiotic for commensal flora in the intestinal tract
Para-Aminobenzoic Acid (PABA) - Supports joints, tendons and ligaments
- Connective tissue support
Artichoke leaf - Supports healthy bile production
- Digestive aid
- Manages cholesterol levels
Bioflavonoid complex - An important phytochemical found in nature with strong antioxidant effects.
- With many classes and types, isolation of flavonoids may not prove to be as effective as taking them in combination as they are found in nature.
Boswellia serrata - Derived from the ancient herb Frankincense , the acids have been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects and inhibit 5-LOX.
- Protective and preventive in osteoarthritis.
Bupleurum root - This ancient herb is a staple in many major Traditional Chinese Medicine herbal formulas for its ability to support liver health, regulate the immune system and support the intestinal tract.
Cordiander seed - Considered a carminative for its ability to calm the digestive tract and improve digestion
Dandelion root - This bitter herb is exceptional at supporting digestive health. Bitter herbs help with the flow and production of bile and support the digestion of fats.
- Dandelion root may also support healthy stomach acid and improve digestion of proteins.
Inula - Traditionally used as an expectorant and antitussive, inula is excellent in supporting the immune system of a type A.
Coenzyme Q10 - An essential nutrient in the electron transport chain, CoQ10 aids in the production of ATP and energy.
