ABO Specific Multivitamin

INTRODUCTION

These peerless multiple vitamin and mineral formulas are carefully designed by Dr. D’Adamo to reflect the individual health concerns and precise nutritional needs of each blood type. Polyvite blood-type specific multivitamins provide the body’s nutritional requirements when under occasional daily stress or during conditions of high biological demand, and when this nutrient need cannot be provided by food derived forms of vitamins alone.

DESCRIPTION/ BACKGROUND

ACTIONS/ INDICATIONS

Highlights of the Polyvite AB formula include:

Vitamin A (100% as Beta-Carotene)

  • Supports healthy vision and immune function
  • Stimulates secretion of intestinal alkaline phosphatase (low in type A) which aids in fat breakdown and calcium absorption
  • Vitamin A has beenm shown to modulate the immune response in the intestinal tract, supporting intestinal repair and inflammation.

Acerola Cherry

  • Contains 66 times the vitamin C of orange juice, and provides 100% of the RDA of vitamin C
  • Promotes digestive health and growth of friendly bacteria

Vitamin D

  • Vitamin D, in its active form as cholecalciferol, is most well-known for its bone strengthening benefits, however it is also an immune modulator. It may help prevent infections and autoimmune illness.

Vitamin E

  • Unlike other major vitamins, vitamin E is a strong fat-soluble antioxidant protecting lipids from being oxidizes in the body.
  • As the cell membrane is made up mostly of fats, vitamin E is key in supporting cellular function and protecting from oxidative species.
  • Functions as an anti-coagulant by preventing platelet aggregation.

Thiamin

  • An essential vitamin required as a cofactor for multiple enzymatic activities.

Riboflavin

  • Necessary for ATP production
  • Supports reduction and generation of glutathione
  • May also show benefits in migraines

Niacin

  • Supports cholesterol levels
  • Helps in supporting the heart and vascular health

Vitamin B6

  • Supports proper neurotransmitter production
  • Supports liver health
  • Supports metabolism of homocysteine

Folate

  • Important in DNA synthesis
  • Supports metabolism of homocysteine
  • Involved in functioning of the nervous system

Pantothenic Acid

  • Key component of energy production in the TCA cycle
  • Supports synthesis of healthy cholesterol, heme and acetylcholine

Rhodiola rosea

  • Rhodiola rosea is a popular plant in traditional medical systems in Eastern Europe and Asian with a reputation for stimulating the nervous system, decreasing depression, enhancing work performance, eliminating fatigue, and preventing high altitude sickness.
  • Rhodiola rosea has been categorized as an adaptogen by Russian researchers due to its observed ability to increase resistance to a variety of chemical, biological, and physical stressors. Claimed benefits include antidepressant, anticancer, cardioprotective, and central nervous system enhancement.
  • Research also indicates great utility in asthenic conditions (decline in work performance, sleep difficulties, poor appetite, irritability, hypertension, headaches, and fatigue) developing subsequent to intense physical or intellectual strain. The adaptogenic, cardiopulmonary protective, and central nervous system activities of Rhodiola rosea have been attributed primarily to its ability to influence levels and activity of monoamines and opioid peptides such as betaendorphins.

Methylcobalamin (Active B12)

  • Helps balance melatonin metabolism
  • Aids in cortisol metabolism

Green Tea

  • Contains powerful antioxidant activity (estimated as 25X antioxidant activity of vitamin E and 100X that of vitamin C)
  • Research shows that the combination of green tea and turmeric offer 8.5x the antioxidant activity when combined (as in this product) as compared to when they are used individually
  • Promotes growth of friendly intestinal bacteria
  • Epidemiological evidence suggests regular consumption of green tea reduces the risk of many cancers

Hawthorn

  • Contains phytonutrients that protect the cardiovascular system from free radical damage & promotes improved function

Lycopene

  • Ongoing preliminary research suggests that lycopene is associated with reduced risk of macular degenerative disease, serum lipid oxidation and cancers of the lung, bladder, cervix and skin.

Quercetin

  • Potent antimutagen
  • Aids in maintaining gut integrity
  • Regulates the histamine response

Curcumin

  • Contains powerful antioxidant, anti-carcinogenic and anti-inflammatory compounds
  • Inhibits the enzyme ODC, thereby decreasing potentially toxic and carcinogenic bowel polyamines
  • Promotes gastric integrity, increases mucin production, and offers gastro-protective effects

Arabinogalactan pulp

  • Promotes growth of friendly bacteria
  • Supports immune system health

Ashwagandha

  • Ashwagandha stimulates the activation of immune system cells, such as lymphocytes.
  • It has also been shown to inhibit inflammation and improve memory in animal experiments.

Inositol

  • Inositol is a fundamental ingredient of cell membranes and is necessary for proper function of nerves, brain, and muscles in the body.
  • Inositol is primarily used in the treatment of liver problems, depression, panic disorder, and diabetes. It also aids in the breakdown of fats, helps in the reduction of blood cholesterol

 Citrulline

  • Precursor to L-arginine which is necessary for nitric oxide production

Blueberry/ Elderberry Complex:

  • Offers more antioxidant activity than any of 40 fruits and vegetables tested by Tufts University and the USDA
  • Promotes the phase II detoxification enzyme quinine reductase
  • Inhibits the enzyme ODC, thereby decreasing potentially toxic and carcinogenic bowel polyamines
  • Is a rich source of health promoting proanthocyanadins
  • Has been found to help delay the onset of age-related declines in cognitive function
  • Inhibits bacterial adherence

Fenugreek seed

  • Supports and manages healthy blood sugar levels, as evident in human and animal trials.
  • Supports healthy hormone levels in men and women.
  • Along with supporting insulin and blood sugar levels, it may also support high triglyceride levels.

L-Arginine

  • Acts as a precursor to nitric oxide, which helps with the relaxation and dilation of blood vessels.
  • Nitric oxide is also key in the function of white blood cells to fight off infection and for the function of the nervous system.

Pantethine

  • Derived from pantothenic acid, pantethine is a component on co-enzyme A, a part of the metabolism of fats and carbohydrates.
  • Supports detoxification as a cofactor in aldehyde dehydrogenase.

Astragalus (A. membranaceus) root extract (0.8-1% isoflavones)

  • Premiere immune balancing herb with a demonstrated ability to increase NK cell activity
  • Modulates cytokine production away from pro-inflammatory and towards balanced immune performance.
  • Adaptogenic reputation in stress

Cordyceps sinensis

  • Traditionally used in Chinese medicine as a tonic herb, cordyceps helps improve stamina and ward off fatigue.
  • May work to support healthy hormone levels by supporting the production and modulation of estrogen, testosterone and stress hormones.
