ABO Specific Multivitamin

INTRODUCTION

These peerless multiple vitamin and mineral formulas are carefully designed by Dr. D’Adamo to reflect the individual health concerns and precise nutritional needs of each blood type. Polyvite blood-type specific multivitamins provide the body’s nutritional requirements when under occasional daily stress or during conditions of high biological demand, and when this nutrient need cannot be provided by food derived forms of vitamins alone.

DESCRIPTION/ BACKGROUND

Polyvite B was designed as a ‘neurovascular activator’ for type B individuals, providing anti-stress protection, polyamine sequestration, enhancement of cell membrane activity, immune support and cardiovascular tonification.

ACTIONS/ INDICATIONS

Highlights of the Polyvite B formula include:

Vitamin A (100% as Beta-Carotene)

  • Supports healthy vision and immune function
  • Stimulates secretion of intestinal alkaline phosphatase (low in type A) which aids in fat breakdown and calcium absorption
  • Vitamin A has beenm shown to modulate the immune response in the intestinal tract, supporting intestinal repair and inflammation.

Acerola Cherry

  • Contains 66 times the vitamin C of orange juice, and provides 100% of the RDA of vitamin C
  • Promotes digestive health and growth of friendly bacteria

Vitamin D

  • Vitamin D, in its active form as cholecalciferol, is most well-known for its bone strengthening benefits, however it is also an immune modulator. It may help prevent infections and autoimmune illness.

Vitamin E

  • Unlike other major vitamins, vitamin E is a strong fat-soluble antioxidant protecting lipids from being oxidizes in the body.
  • As the cell membrane is made up mostly of fats, vitamin E is key in supporting cellular function and protecting from oxidative species.
  • Functions as an anti-coagulant by preventing platelet aggregation.

Thiamin

  • An essential vitamin required as a cofactor for multiple enzymatic activities.

Riboflavin

  • Necessary for ATP production
  • Supports reduction and generation of glutathione
  • May also show benefits in migraines

Niacin

  • Supports cholesterol levels
  • Helps in supporting the heart and vascular health

Vitamin B6

  • Supports proper neurotransmitter production
  • Supports liver health
  • Supports metabolism of homocysteine

Folate

  • Important in DNA synthesis
  • Supports metabolism of homocysteine
  • Involved in functioning of the nervous system

Methylcobalamin (Active B12)

  • Helps balance melatonin metabolism
  • Aids in cortisol metabolism

Biotin

  • Aids in the utilization of sugar and glucose
  • Supports fatty acid oxidation

Ashwagandha

  • Ashwagandha stimulates the activation of immune system cells, such as lymphocytes.
  • It has also been shown to inhibit inflammation and improve memory in animal experiments.

Inositol

  • Inositol is a fundamental ingredient of cell membranes and is necessary for proper function of nerves, brain, and muscles in the body.
  • Inositol is primarily used in the treatment of liver problems, depression, panic disorder, and diabetes. It also aids in the breakdown of fats, helps in the reduction of blood cholesterol

Eleutherococcus

  • Strengthens and protects the immune system to prevent infections and to speed up convalescent processes
  • Reduces the harmful effects of stress and alleviating fatigue
  • Protects the body as an antioxidant against toxins, chemicals, pollution and radiation

Nutritional Yeast

  • One of only a few good sources of RNA and DNA in the diet

Blueberry/ Elderberry Complex

  • Offers more antioxidant activity than any of 40 fruits and vegetables tested by Tufts University and the USDA
  • Promotes the phase II detoxification enzyme quinine reductase*
  • Inhibits the enzyme ODC, thereby decreasing potentially toxic and carcinogenic bowel polyamines
  • Is a rich source of health promoting proanthocyanadins
  • Has been found to help delay the onset of age-related declines in cognitive function
  • Inhibits bacterial adherence

Bacopa monieri

  • Enhances cognitive ability and memory retention
  • Aids in cortisol metabolism

Nori, dunaliela, laminaria sea vegetable mixture

  • Contains alginates which can help bind heavy metals and protect against harmful lectins
  • Is a rich source of plant polysaccharides and trace minerals

Arabinogalactan pulp

  • Promotes growth of friendly bacteria
  • Supports immune system health

L-Lysine

  • Lysine is an amino acid with a pharmacological use much more specific than that of most other amino acids. So far, supplementation of l-lysine is one of the best options available for the treatment of herpes simplex virus infections, especially oral forms.
  • Lysine has also been shown to be useful in the prevention of atherosclerosis, a hardening of the walls of arteries caused by deposits of lipoproteins (fats).

Bilberry

  • Critical to proper visual health
  • OPC’s linked to a variety processes essential to vascular health

Carob

  • Carob contains 5% pinitol, a sugar alcohol instrumental in preventing the negative effects of hypoglycemia and reducing fatigue

Cordyceps sinensis

  • Traditionally used in Chinese medicine as a tonic herb, cordyceps helps improve stamina and ward off fatigue.
  • May work to support healthy hormone levels by supporting the production and modulation of estrogen, testosterone and stress hormones.

Rutin

  • Found naturally in citrus fruits, apples and black tea, this flavonoid has vascular protecting benefits.
  • As an antioxidant supports vessels and connective tissues by protecting against oxidative species.

Slippery elm

  • Supports digestive health by improving the mucosal layer of the stomach and intestines.
  • Used for centuries by herbalists to help soothe the intestinal tract and reduce inflammation

  • Anise
  • As a carminative, anise has traditionally been used as a digestive aid.

Coenzyme Q10

  • An essential nutrient in the electron transport chain, CoQ10 aids in the production of ATP and energy.
  • Supports mitochondrial function.
  • Acts as a mitochondrial antioxidant.

TYPICAL DOSAGE
