Moisturizes skin reducing appearance of fine lines and wrinkles

INTRODUCTION

This hydrating crème plumps up and softens the skin reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

DESCRIPTION/ BACKGROUND

For D’Adamo Genoma® Day Light Face Crème, Dr. D’Adamo created two powerful herbal combinations: The first blends lecithin, carnosine, and milk thistle extracts together to stop stiffening of collagen fibers, a major reason for formation of wrinkles and lines. The second blends date, pomegranate, and strawberry extracts together to provide a superior broad-spectrum antioxidant protection. These plant antioxidants are many times more effective than synthetic vitamins as well as up to three times more effective than green tea and red wine. To this blend of antioxidants, Dr. D’Adamo added the wild-crafted extract of cassia seed, a renowned Ayurvedic plant similar to hyaluronic acid in its moisturizing benefits. This versatile moisturizing crème can be worn alone or under make up.

ACTIONS/ INDICATIONS

Although the ingredient names appear as simple botanicals, the form of delivery is specifically targeted and proven to achieve desired results for the facial area. The areas addressed with the use of these particular ingredients include:

  • Maintenance of the structure of the skin by both preventing degradation and promoting firming.
  • Providing strong antioxidant protection stimulating the body’s natural defense mechanisms.
  • Delivering moisture topically and stimulating the skin’s natural moisture reservoirs to hold more water.

Lecithin, Saccharomyces selenium ferment, Wasabia japonica root extract, yeast extract, zinc sulfate.  A combination of trace minerals and extracts designed to boost the activity of natural anti-oxidant enzymes present in the skin. Lecithin is a naturally occurring mixture of the diglycerides of stearic, palmitic and oleic acids, linked to the choline ester of phosphoric acid. Lecithin is a naturally occurring fatty substance found in several foods, which helps maintain elasticity of collagen fibers.

Phoenix dactylifera (date) extract, Punica granatum (pomegranate) extract, Fragaria chiloensis (strawberry) fruit extract.  UVA and UVB from sunlight cause damage to cell walls, DNA, and important enzymes and proteins. Protein damage to cells leads to loss of enzymatic activity. Damage to DNA creates premature aging and susceptibility to skin cancer. In order to provide proper protection, an antioxidant must be able to penetrate the damaged areas to protect against oxidation within the nucleus of the cell. The extract of date is full of tannins, and has been shown to protect proteins from oxidation as well as scavenge superoxide more effectively than pure vitamin C and E. This exotic fruit’s juicy seeds may hold the key to softer, smoother, younger-looking skin. A symbol of fertility and health in ancient times, the pomegranate is becoming today’s symbol of a glowing complexion. Thanks to a wealth of natural oils, sun-protective compounds, and vitamins, researchers are now uncovering this seed-filled fruit’s potential to promote radiant skin. Shown to have a broad-spectrum antioxidant protection for skin highly susceptible to stress and environmental damage, especially pollution and UV exposure. Pomegranate fruit contains anthocyanins and ellagitannis and demonstrates three times more antioxidant activity than green tea and red wine! Anthocyanins, present in strawberry extract, inhibit oxidation in cell walls and are a strong free radical scavenger. The powerful combination of extracts provides superior broad spectrum antioxidant protection. Strawberry’s main skin-pleasing ingredient is alpha-hydroxy acid, a great little substance that helps us slough off dead skin cells so that new, youthful skin is revealed.

Perfluorodecalin.  Every cell in our body, including the dermis requires oxygen and nutrients to function properly. This active ingredient is an organic compound composed of carbon fluorine derived from such minerals as copper, zinc and magnesium. Its main function is to increase oxygen and moisture to the skin. Increased oxygen levels aid in wound healing and the reduction of scarring in damaged or acneic skin. It also increases the relative humidity or moisture content of the skin thereby decreasing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles creating smooth skin. In an independent clinical study, participants treated with perfluorodecalin after common procedures such as microdermabrasion and peels, saw a 50% increase in faster wound healing and reduction of scars. Participants also found a 10-20% decrease in the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.

Lecithin, carnosine, tocopherol, Silybum marianum extract, glycerin.  This powerful combination of two actives to stop stiffening of collagen fibers, a major reason for formation of wrinkles and lines. Carnosine, a naturally occurring dipeptide in the human body, has anti-aging properties by inhibition of the detrimental glycation reaction. The antioxidant properties of silymarin found in milk thistle extract act as another powerful glycation inhibitor. Help maintain elasticity of collagen fibers and are heterocyclic amines. The complex improves hydration, firmness and smoothness of the skin and clearly reduces wrinkle depth.

Cassia angustifolia seed polysaccharide.  Extracted from the seeds of the ayurvedic plant also known as Indian senna, it is similar to hyaluronic acid and provides exceptional film forming and moisturizing properties. The extract improves water retention and absorption of the skin thus boosting the skin’s defense system. The extract has regenerative properties and repairs dry, dull and sensitive skin. Ayurvedic plant, similar to hyaluronic acid in its moisturizing benefits, is a natural component of connective tissue whose function is to cushion and lubricate; it keeps the skin moisturized and relaxed, preventing small wrinkle formation.

Moisture retention is a key element in the maintenance of the skin. Genoma Day Light Face Crème is designed to complement the Genoma Skin Care program by promoting skin firming and moisture retention, both critical components in the anti-aging process.

The preservative system used in this formula is aspen bark and ascorbic acid. The ascorbic acid is effective against mold and yeast microorganisms.
